Just In: Nigeria Confirms 220 New COVID-19 Cases, 62 in Lagos

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday 2 May 2020, confirmed 220 new cases of the novel coronavirus pandemic bringing the country’s total infections to 2,388.

Afriupdate reports that the health agency revealed this new development on their verified Twitter account late Saturday evening.

According NCDC, the number of deaths from the deadly virus also rose to 85 while 385 have now recovered as seen below:

The novel coronavirus has killed at least 241,682 people since the outbreak first emerged in China in December 2019, according to a tally from official sources compiled by AFP at 1900 GMT on Saturday.

More than 3,398,390 cases were registered in 195 countries and territories. Of these, at least 1,023,900 are now considered recovered.
