Valencia said to be plotting Neto-Cillissen-Onana merry-go-round
Los Che want to sign back their ex-goalkeeper, Mundo Deportivo say.
The plan is to sell Cillissen to Ajax and for Barca to land Onana as Neto replacement.
The Catalans don’t quite like the idea of spending big money on a second-choice goalie.
Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo report that Valencia want Neto back and are ready to kick off a merry-go-round deal that would see Jasper Cillessen, Andre Onana and the Brazilian interchange clubs.
Although it looks possible on paper, Los Che’s plan is impossible for at least one reason — Barcelona don’t want to spend €40m — the reported price tag on Onana — on a second-choice goalkeeper.
The Catalans are said to be ready to let Neto leave. If that happens, however, they won’t go on the market to sign someone instead, they will just promote Inaki Pena, who is de facto Barca’s third-choice shot-stopper.
Inaki often trains along with Neto and Marc-Andre ter Stegen and goes to play for the reserves.
He is having a great season at Barca B. The Spaniard has appeared in 18 matches and has conceded 15 goals while keeping eight clean sheets.
